Humphrey Percy, Chief Executive Officer
Humphrey is Chief Executive Officer of Armila Capital. Humphrey also holds the position of Group Chief Executive Officer of KEH, the holding company of of Armila Capital, having joined the group in May 2016. Prior to this appointment, Humphrey founded Bank of London and The Middle East plc and was Chief Executive Officer of BLME Holdings having joined in August 2006.
Humphrey has more than 30 years of international banking experience and has worked at J. Henry Schroder Wagg, Barclays Merchant Bank (later Barclays de Zoete Wedd/BZW) and WestLB where he held positions including CEO, Managing Director, General Manager, and Head of Global Financial Markets. He has managed a number of global businesses within Barclays and WestLB as well as founding his own business in 2002 where he remains Non-Executive Chairman.
He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), is on the Advisory Board of the London Capital Club and is a Business Ambassador for the Royal Marines Business Liaison Group.
Tom Stoddart-Scott, Head of Property
Having graduated with a degree in Land Management from The University of Reading, Tom has held positions in leading UK property consultancies prior to joining Armila Capital in December 2012, as follows:
- Cluttons LLP (2001-2006) Surveyor – UK investment agency and fund management
- GVA (Saxon Law) Limited (2006-2010) Associate Director – London (West End) Capital markets
- Hanover Private Office Limited (2010-2012) Director – Head of Commercial Property
He qualified as a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) in October 2003 having studied and passed the Assessment of Personal Competence and has in excess of 15 years UK commercial property markets experience focussed mainly on the capital markets with a track record in excess of £600m, of sales and acquisitions of commercial property investments across the prime sectors (retail, offices and industrial). Whilst at GVA (Saxon Law), Tom was extremely fortunate to work on the Lancer Property Asset Management mandate. Lancer manages the UK commercial property investments of the Abu Dhabi Royal Family with funds under management in excess of £5bn and a portfolio in excess of 3m sq. ft primarily centred around its main holding, The Berkeley Square Estate in Mayfair, W1. Tom has built up a wide network of industry contacts at a consultancy, investor and institutional level and has worked with a wide variety of investors ranging from private individuals, charities, Oxbridge Colleges and landed estates to the main UK institutions.
James Robertson, Director – Business Development
James has over 15 years international property and corporate finance experience. He has acted on behalf of institutions, family offices and high net worth individuals acquiring trophy assets, hotels, student accommodation, commercial and residential real estate assets and portfolios across UK, Western Europe and Asia Pacific. Mandates have ranged from formation of joint ventures, club and fund structures as well as specific investor strategy leading to family office creation.
Most recently James has been running a multi-family office on behalf of two UHNW Middle Eastern investors, providing asset identification, structuring, oversight and managing of due diligence, sourcing and negotiating Shari’ah compliant financing and ongoing asset management.
James has been an integral member of the Armila Capital team since joining at the start of 2017.
CORPORATE FINANCE ADVISORY
Constantine Thanassoulas, Director – Corporate Finance
Constantine joined Armila Capital in February 2017, as a Director of Corporate Finance. Prior to this, he has held a number of senior positions in the financial services industry including Chief Executive Officer of Premier European Capital ltd a London based finance company, Chief Executive Officer of LARCO S.A. a Ferronickel Mining Company and Chairman of Toledo Mining Corporation Plc a London AIM listed company.
He has also held the positions of Chief Operating Officer and Board Director of Sanwa International PLC (the Investment Banking Arm of Sanwa Bank, now UFJ-Mitsubishi) and Managing Director of Debt Capital Markets and Global Head of Derivatives for Barclays Bank PLC. He also served as a member of the Barclays Bank Group Credit Committee. Before joining the Financial Sector, in 1982, he was Lecturer of Econometrics at Bath University, UK where he now holds the position of visiting Professor. He has written extensively on the subject of currency and interest rate options and he is the co-author of the book on ‘Financial Options: from theory to practice’. He is also the past President of the European Finance Association and past President of European Financial Management Association.
Richard Lesmoir-Gordon, Director – Corporate Finance
Richard has over 40 years of experience in international banking. He joined J. Henry Schroder Wagg in 1975 as a graduate trainee and later worked for WestLB where he was Regional Head of Global Financial Markets for Asia-Pacific. In the early 2000s he co-founded Lesmoir-Gordon, Boyle & Co (LGB), a London-based corporate finance and investment management business. There he was responsible for LGB’s advisory relationship with Bank of London and The Middle East plc. He retired from LGB in 2015. Richard joined Armila Capital in July 2016, and is a Director of Corporate Finance.
